An interesting discussion on immigration. I think in terms of the seed event (in Dublin) it is good to ungeneralise and be open to the idea that events like these could be less if more kindness and support was given for mental health and stress management.
Good point Dom. The usual support mechanisms may have been overloaded, making situations like this more likely. But if we ungeneralise any further here we run the risk of making excuses for the end results of mental instability. We also run the risk of getting caught up in the scapegoat rituals and being made into a scapegoat ourselves. Hopefully there are people with good ideas in the right places who can see past all that.
