A Short Post
About bollards
I wasn’t going to write this post. But since we’re all here I’ll make it short. In honour of short posts. Posting about shorts. Has there ever been such an invention which was so taken for granted? Let’s take a short moment - a moment to reflect - on shorts.
The street has changed since the short making factory shut down. Pity it couldn’t have run longer.
A very specific cut. Only did short runs. Running shorts in fact. But they were always running short. They tried longer runs but it only made them exhausted. Always preferred the short run in the long run, that is until the day when the factory owners cut and run. Left some people short.
Next door the Short Bread Kitchen now looks lost and out of place. They’ve never sold the short bread biscuits. And only if you ask will they sell you a short loaf. The baker no longer bakes in shorts. But the staff can be quite short tempered. Especially when you insist that “no no, you’re just height challenged”.
And that’s the long and short of it really. It was meant to be a short post but generally they get called bollards anyway. I shall tell the story of the bollard factory another time.

I feel shorted by this post.
At the risk of sounding impatient, one can only hope that the tale of the bollard factory will appear shortly.
